We collect what we need to look after your cat, we use it for that, and we don't sell it to anybody.
What we collect
When you send a booking request or email us, we receive what you typed: your name, email address, phone number, the neighborhood and address you gave us, your travel dates, and what you told us about your cat — including any medication and veterinary details.
This website does not use analytics, advertising trackers, or third-party cookies. No cookie banner, because there is nothing to consent to.
What we do with it
We use it to answer you, arrange a meet-and-greet, and look after your cat. Booking details are kept for as long as you're a client, plus a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back — it saves you re-typing everything.
We do not sell, rent, or share your information with anybody for marketing. The only circumstance in which we'd pass anything on is an emergency involving your cat, where we would give your veterinary practice the details they need to treat them.
Who processes it
The booking form is delivered by Cloudflare, which hosts this site and passes the submission to our mailbox. Cloudflare Turnstile checks the form is being sent by a person rather than a bot; it sets no advertising cookies and does not track you across sites. Our email is hosted by Proton. Each of these providers handles your data under its own privacy terms.
Keys, codes and your house
Alarm codes, gate codes, and lockbox combinations are never written down anywhere that also identifies your address. Keys are labelled with a code, not with your name or street. We return keys at the end of a booking unless you've asked us to hold them for next time.
Photographs
We take photos of your cat during visits and send them to you. We won't post any of them publicly — including on Instagram — unless you tell us it's fine. We never show the inside of your home, and we never identify an address.
Your choices
Ask us at any time what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@balboaislandcatsitting.com or call (949) 749-2287 and we'll sort it out. If you ask us to delete everything, we'll do it — though we may keep a minimal record of dates worked where we're required to for tax purposes.
