Just the two of us

Unlike the larger pet-sitting outfits in the area, there is no roster here. No contractors, no dispatch app, no different face on day four because somebody called in sick. When you book us, you get Peter or Katie, and usually whichever of us met your cat first.

That only works because the map is small. We live on Bayside Drive, so every house we sit is minutes from our own — we can do a 7am insulin visit on Harbor Island and still make an evening drop-in on Park Avenue. The moment we started covering more ground than that, the promise would quietly stop being true. So we don't.

We are cat people specifically. Cats are not small dogs: they don't want a boarding facility, a new house, or a parade of strangers. They want their own windowsill, their own bowl, their own schedule, and somebody calm who turns up when they said they would. That's the entire job, and it is worth doing well.

What you can expect

• A free meet-and-greet in your home before the first visit
• Photos the same visit, every visit
• Your vet on file, with written authorization to transport
• Keys returned, or your lockbox left exactly as you set it
• An honest answer when the right one is "no"
